The people of the”greatest generation” that went through their childhood struggling with the poverty and injustice of the great depression, just to be thrown in the mouth of the beast that the second world war was, at the very beginning of their adulthood are getting few as the time goes by.
One of those great people is Harold Estes retired as Master Chief Boatswains Mate, who gave a great sacrifice for the pride of the USA and the well being of the democratic world in the WWII.
He died peacefully in a retirement home in Hawaii, but before passing over he wrote a letter to the newly elected american president. A letter from a real patriot to an impostor, a letter filled with the hurt of a war veteran with more years of service for the USA than Obama’s age.
His letter was mailed just prior to Obama’s shameful apology tour. The letter was tragic prophesy for Obama’s disrespectful altitude towards law enforcement and the military, and his lack of love for America and unequal treatment of the races.
“Dear President Obama,” the veteran began “One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man,” he continued with his concern about America’s political development “I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish. I can’t figure out what country you are the president of…”
He used Obama’s own points against him “America hasn’t lived up to her ideals,” and gave him a lesson about American history “11,000 farmers and shopkeepers who died for to win independence from the British” he made it personal after
“I hope you didn’t mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII.”
“I don’t think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.”
Afterwards he gave Obama a very harsh advice, joking about himself saying that he is an old geezer,to emphasize his long long years.
“Shape up and start acting like an American.”
Finally he gave his best stroke to Obama who “never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, you’re the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job.”
The man of glory Master Chief Estes will be honored and remembered like a great patriot and a hero, fighting with all his strength for American people, even in his last hours. For that dear Master Chief Estes we are eternally grateful.May you rest in peace!
