As the Islamic State branches out across the globe with six operational forces in six different regions, the responsible government would introduce an immigration policy that would profile and otherwise ardently vet potential immigrants from countries where the Islamic State is active. The key word there, however, is “responsible.”
In a statement that left many in the know about the threat the Islamic State poses to the West, former President Bill Clinton suggested thousands of Syrian refugees – an overwhelming number of them Muslim – be imported into Detroit where a homesteading urban renewal program is underway. The notion was so ridiculous that GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump was quick to slap down the idea as “crazy.” In an interview withBreitbart.com, Trump said, “It’s very unfair to the people that are living there. I think it’s crazy.”
The economic impact that an influx of thousands of Muslim refugees from Syria would have aside, creating an enclave of Syrian Muslims in direct proximity to the Islamic bastion of Dearborn, Michigan is tantamount to creating a safe haven for the Islamic State here in the United States.
“We shouldn’t have them [Syrian refugees] in the country,” Trump said. “We don’t know who these people are…This could be the all-time great Trojan horse…The whole thing is ridiculous.”
Trump insisted that the United States should be pushing for safe zones in Syria where the Syrian people could be free from assault, both by government forces and Islamic State jihadists. He added that because the calamity was a Middle Eastern problem, it should come with a price to be paid for by the Gulf States.
“It’s just crazy,” Trump said in exasperation to the Progressive madness of Clinton. “We ought to be building safe zones in Syria and not taking these people in – whether it’s Detroit or anywhere else.”
Detroit-native and Trump supporter Ben Carson echoed Trump’s feelings Friday, explaining that we in the United States need to take care of our own before we focus our national benevolence outward. “There are plenty of people in Detroit who you could say almost look at as refugees.” Carson said.
Clinton’s suggestion that the US ought to absorb the Muslim refugees from Syria – and give Detroit-based jobs to them – came during a February discussion at the Clinton Global Initiative.
“The truth is that the big loser in this over the long run is going to be Syria. This [Syrian migrant crisis] is an enormous opportunity for Americans,” Clinton said. “Detroit has 10,000 empty, structurally sound houses —10,000. And lot of jobs are to be had repairing those houses. Detroit just came out of bankruptcy and the mayor’s trying to do an innovative sort of urban homesteading program there. But it just gives you an example of what could be done.”
There are a multitude of Islamic enclaves across the United States, chief among them are the locations of Dearborn, Michigan and Herndon, Virginia. In fact, the Islamic culture is so predominant in Dearborn that Sharia councils have been set-up to arbitrate disputes that would otherwise be the purview of our legal system. In addition, Islamic banking and financial practices are the order of the day.
To infuse thousands of Syrian Muslim refugees into an area already threatened by Sharia Law, and from a region thick with Islamic State operatives, is the height of irresponsibility. It is as if Clinton wants the United States to undergo a permanent fundamental transformation. What do you know about that!
