Bill Cosby’s suffering is not coming to an end. The famous comedian is prosecuted and accused of sexual assault. The comedian is facing real difficulties to prove his innocence, or maybe he is not innocent at all. In the report below you will see that he made a mistake. Or he just wanted to send a message?
Actor and comedian Bill Cosby has chosen to keep his mouth shut for the better part of two years regarding the multiple allegations of sexual assault lodged against him. Now, with his trial approaching, the actor has broken his silence — and what he said may have easily handed the prosecution a victory.
In a Sirius XM radio interview with host Michael Smerconish, Cosby admitted that he had chosen not to testify at his trial. However, that was not the most shocking revelation: The reason why Cosby has decided not to testify is because he doesn’t want to deal with coming up with what he believes is a “truthful answer” to the prosecutor’s questions.
“What people want to say, want you to say, and how they maneuver — yes, I do have lawyers to protect me, ‘objections,’ ‘sustained’ — but I just don’t want to sit there and have to figure out what I believe is a truthful answer as to whether or not I’m opening a can of something that … my lawyers are scrambling,” the Independent Journal Review reported Cosby as saying in that interview.
The Independent Journal Review has the full transcript of Cosby’s absurd comments.
Hmmm, how about you tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
According to NBC News, this was the first time Cosby has done a recorded interview since being charged in December of 2015 for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Costand at his home in 2004. That is the only case that was brought to trial amid a slew of other accusations brought by a woman who claimed Cosby had similarly drugged and assaulted them over the actor’s decades-long career.
The New York Times added that Cosby’s worries were mainly with cross-examination. “When you have to deal with examination, cross-examination, et cetera, et cetera, more than two sides to every story, sometimes it’s four or five,” Cosby said.
That’s not a completely unreasonable description of a criminal trial — but all Cosby should be concerning himself with is one side of the story — his best recollection of what happened.
It seems that the fact is lost on Cosby that there is only one side that matters, and maybe we’re all better off that he’s not going to take the stand.
If he did testify, it would probably take Tom Cruise’s Lt. Dan Kaffey to get the truth out of him — and we’re not sure he can handle the truth, anyway.
What do you think about Bill Cosby’s comment? This seems really ‘suicidal’ comment to me. Maybe he is not ready yet to admit the truth, but it’s really weird how Cosby acted since he was accused until now.
