An arms dealer who publicly blackmailed Hillary Clinton has had all charges against him conveniently dismissed by President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice, according to Politico.
Marc Turi, an American arms dealer, had threatened to come forward with information implicating Hillary Clinton in arming anti-Gaddafi rebels during her time as secretary of state.
In 2014, Turi was charged with two counts of arms dealing in contravention of the Arms Export Control Act and two charges of lying to the State Department.
Turi’s bombshell defense was that the transactions were part of a State Department plot to arm rebels in Libya. On Monday, one month before the election, lawyers for Obama’s Department of Justice filed a motion in Phoenix federal court to drop all charges against him.
An unnamed associate of Turi said that the Obama administration specifically dropped the charges to avoid embarrassing Clinton on the incredibly sensitive subject of Benghazi and Libya.
“They don’t want this stuff to come out because it will look really bad for Obama and Clinton just before the election,” the unnamed associate said.
“Our position from the outset has been that this case never should have been brought and we’re glad it’s over,” said Jean-Jacques Cabou, court-appointed defense counsel for Turi. “Mr Turi didn’t break the law … We’re very glad the charges are being dismissed.”
“The U.S. government spent millions of dollars, went all over the world to bankrupt him, and destroyed his life — all to protect Hillary Clinton’s crimes,” said Robert Stryk, another Turi advisor.
While we don’t necessarily like to see anyone blackmailed, Hillary Clinton isn’t the worst person in the world to have it happen to.
After all, she’s been given plenty of opportunities to tell the truth about how she acted in Libya, especially in regard to Benghazi. That’s when one of the men who allegedly helped her to arm rebels illegally blackmailed her. She claimed she did nothing — but miraculously, all charges against Turi were dropped.
The question practically asks itself: If Hillary Clinton can be blackmailed this easily by an arms dealer, what’s going to happen when world leaders get a hold of her secrets?
