After almost three weeks from the elections, the only remaining state, Michigan, finally released its final vote count.
Last week International Business Times reported that President-elect Donald Trump had beaten Hillary Clinton in the Midwestern state, but that tally had not been officially certified by the proper authorities at the time.
But now Michigan’s secretary of state and Board of Canvassers have officially concluded their tally of all the votes, and have declared Trump to be the winner by a margin of just over 10,000 votes.
Trump garnered the vote of 2,279,543 voters in the state, or roughly 47.6 percent of votes cast and Clinton won the vote of 2,268,839 Michiganders, or about 47.4 percent of the total vote.
For a first time, after 28 years a Republican presidential nominee has won the election in Michigan. Last time was George H.W. Bush in 1988.
Leftists and Democrats are still hopping for a possible recount in Michigan and the Green Party candidate Jill Stein is making efforts to succeed in the process. But it’s almost impossible that enough.
