The New York times published an unauthorized copy of Donald Trump’s tax return from 1995 and Dems got more than a little excited to get their paws on it. But, the publication should have thought about their own backyard before doing so.
According to a report just published on Breitbart.com via Forbes, “…for the tax year 2014, The New York times paid no taxes and got an income tax refund of $3.5 million even though they had a pre-tax profit of $29.9 million in 2014.”
And that is not all… the news publication could find itself is massive legal troubles for violating federal law and publishing an unauthorized tax return.
So, let’s backtrack just a bit to see what all the fuss is about.
In 1995, Donald Trump claimed a $916 million loss.
With such a loss, he is able to defer some of those losses to subsequent years.
In other words, he was able to not pay taxes on profits for several years thereafter because he took such a massive loss in 1995.
He did nothing illegal here.
This is a tax break every American could have taken advantage of had they had business or stock losses.
While Trump did nothing illegal, what The New York Times did was illegal.
The issue now will be whether the publication can hide behind the first amendment.
Can they somehow make the argument this is news because he is a presidential candidate that the court will accept for this violation?
As I have stated numerous times, I could care less, and that seems to be the overriding sentiment among voters.
And I don’t care because he was a businessman, not a politician.
I was not paying his salary, compared to someone like Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Mike Pence, and Tim Kaine, all of whom have been paid by We the People.
The hypocrisy of this entire thing is disgusting.
Trump does something completely legal and gets raked over the coals for it.
Hillary leaves people to die, rips off the country, and supports a rapist husband, and everything is fine and dandy on the left.
And they wonder why we want to blow up the political system!
