As a response to President Trump’s Thursday airstrike back in Afghanistan, RT ran a piece on Friday which was titled, “Forget the ‘Mother of all bombs,’ meet the Russian-made ‘Daddy’”.
The U.S. strike on Afghanistan featured the 20,000+ pound GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb but it seems that Russia has been spending a lot of time trying to top the ‘Mother’.
“The Aviation Thermobaric Bomb of Increased Powder, known as the ‘Father of all bombs’ (FOAB), was developed by Russia in 2007 and eclipses its US rival in both power and efficiency” stated a press release from Kremlin.
Further reports go on to explain how the FOAB, unlike the MOAB was more environment-friendly and it was far less heftier.
The Deputy Chief of the Russian Armed forces Alexander Rukshin has stated that “Its effectiveness and capabilities are comparable to nuclear weapons,” adding that “At the same time use of this weapon does not damage or pollute the environment, like a nuclear weapon.”
In the end, the report ends with a direct shot aimed at the Trump administration, saying that the FOAB could totally destroy the MOAB in every way, but “Russia has never felt the need to use it.”
If you ask us, these aren’t the most reliable sources, so making decisions and potential threats that you have the most powerful bomb is not the wisest move, Russia.
