While feckless Republicans pay little more than lip service to the unlawful and anarchist ways of their Democrat colleagues a number of true conservatives working independently and using the courts are seeking to return the application of the rule of law to the political class.
One of those most effective in accomplishing this has been Tom Fitton and his patriotic associates at Judicial Watch.
Fitton watched while Vice Chairman Adam Schiff of the House Intelligence Committee steadfastly insisted that there was mounting evidence that President Trump was tied at the hip to Vladimir Putin. Fitton had been following the committee’s work closely and realized that there was no such evidence to support the Democrats’ narrative but it was successfully undermining the peoples’ trust in our new president.
Fitton also knew that the committee – Democrats and Republicans – would stop at nothing to impugn President Trump in order to undermine his presidency. The strategy was simple. Republicans would simply fail to defend the president while the Democrats made wildly inaccurate and incriminating accusations.
The Republican role in this strategy became obvious when Republican Chairman Devin Nunes stepped aside simple under pressure from extreme left-wing Marxist groups MoveOn.org and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW.) Complaints from extremist groups are commonplace and if all it took was a complaint to have an elected official recuse himself from his duties there would soon be no one left to run the government.
Now Judicial Watch has turned the tables and focused the investigation on the Democrats in effect doing the work that Republican members of the committee refused to do.
Judicial Watch has sent the following request to the Office of Congressional Ethics regarding Vice Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA):
If the standard for filing a complaint or opening an ethics investigation is that a member has commented publicly on matters that touch on classified information, but the member does not reveal the source of his or her information, then the complaints against Chairman Nunes are incomplete insofar as they target only Nunes.
At least two other members of the House Intelligence Committee have made comments about classified material that raise more directly the very same concerns raised against Chairman Nunes because they appear to confirm classified information contained in leaked intelligence community intercepts.
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton released a prepared statement claiming, “At least two leading Democrats, Reps. Schiff and Speier, on the House Intelligence Committee, seem to have improperly disclosed classified information.”
Finally, someone is fighting the not so Deep State in an effort to allow President Trump to implement his America First agenda something that Washington hasn’t cared about since Ronald Reagan vacated the White House in 1989.
