Donald trump gave a statement about the Green Party-led effort to convey recounting of the votes in three states. This was supported by the campaign of Hillary Clinton.
“The people have spoken and the election is over, and as Hillary Clinton herself said on election night, in addition to her conceding by congratulating me, ‘We must accept this result and then look to the future,’” Trump said in a statement.
“This is a scam by the Green Party for an election that has already been conceded, and the results of this election should be respected instead of being challenged and abused, which is exactly what Jill Stein is doing,” Trump added.
Trump said that Stein was more interested in money than justice.
“This recount is just a way for Jill Stein, who received less than one percent of the vote overall and wasn’t even on the ballot in many states, to fill her coffers with money, most of which she will never even spend on this ridiculous recount,” Trump’s statement said.
As Stein has said on her website she will raise up to $7 million to cover the costs of the recount, but if no recount occurs the money may be spent on other things.
Stein noted that foreign governments may have manipulated the results. He plans a recount in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Earlier, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway had noted that — back in the days when polls were predicting her to win the election — Clinton had been the one insisting that the result be accepted as final.

“What a pack of sore losers,” Conway said in a statement. “After asking Mr. Trump and his team a million times on the trail, ‘Will HE accept the election results?’ it turns out Team Hillary and their new BFF Jill Stein can’t accept reality.”

Conway said the effort to re-count the votes is a waste of time and money when the nation has other priorities.
“Rather than adhere to the tradition of graciously conceding and wishing the winner well, they’ve opted to waste millions of dollars and dismiss the democratic process. The people have spoken. Time to listen up. #YesYourPresident,” Conway said.

The underpin here is that Clinton won the popular vote, although Trump won the electoral vote 306-232.
In 13 swing states, Trump received almost 22.2 million votes to Clinton’s 21.3 million.
In one debate when Trump said that he would not abide by the election if there was a fraud, Clinton stated “That is not the way our democracy works. “We’ve been around for 240 years. We’ve had free and fair elections. We’ve accepted the outcomes when we may not have liked them, and that is what must be expected of anyone standing on a debate stage during a general election.”
So, Hillary, please be true to your word and let our new President-elect, who won fair and square, lead this country.
