Donald Trump is building his team. Soon he is going to be the new resident of the White House and he needs all the support he could possible get. This will be VERY hard for our new president because since the start of his career( as Elect-President) he finds lots obstacles from his predecessor. Anyway, he has the strongest team imaginable in the white house and he is going to have a full support from the senate. Now guess who is going to be his councelor- as expected – Kellyanne Conway!
After a month of speculation, it was confirmed Thursday that Kellyanne Conway will be serving President-elect Donald Trump in his new administration.
Conway’s position will be counselor to the president.
Trump said in a statement that Conway had “been a trusted advisor and strategist who played a crucial role in my victory.”
“She is a tireless and tenacious advocate of my agenda and has amazing insights on how to effectively communicate our message. I am pleased that she will be part of my senior team in the West Wing,” the president-elect added.
Conway was brought on board the Trump campaign in August in order to help the then-Republican nominee focus on a consistent message to clinch the general election.
The Republican pollster and strategist has been a favorite choice for conservative candidates. Conway helped former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in the 2012 presidential race, and she also advised Vice President-elect Mike Pence when he made his run for the governor of Indiana. During the GOP primaries, she chaired a political action committee for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
“A Trump presidency will bring real change to Washington and to Americans across this great nation. I am humbled and honored to play a role,” Conway said about the appointment.
Originally, Trump had wanted Conway to serve as a spokeswoman for his administration, according to reports. However, she declined that role and offered to support him by working with an outside political group.
According to the statement on her newly appointed role, Conway “will work with senior leadership to effectively message and execute the administration’s legislative priorities and actions.”
As a counselor, Conway will be able to advise Trump on broad range of topics. Unlike other advisers who have a narrow focus, Conway could share her opinion on both domestic and foreign policy issues.
“I know this will be a very family friendly West Wing and White House,” Conway told Fox News Thursday morning. “The gravity and the responsibility of serving at a senior level for the president of the United States — it’s difficult to pass that up.”
