As another NFL Sunday goes by, fans still have the opportunity to witness the players expressing their dissatisfaction in most unconventional and rather offensive ways. And it’s the form of the protests, in particular, that turned this into a nationwide scandal. Choosing to boycott the national anthem, a thing held sacred by many, is a move that sure angered a lot of people. It all began when President Trump criticized NFL players during a rally in Alabama.
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners…when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, “Get that son of a b***h off the field right now, out. He’s fired. He’s fired!”
This set off a firestorm from people within the NFL. Were his comments maybe a little bit strong and overly vulgar? Perhaps. But the thing to remember is that people died for the same flag that these players are disrespecting. Sometimes actions justify these words. That is what is happening here.
Even a good friend of Trump, Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, came out with a statement against Trump:
“I am deeply disappointed by the tone of the comments made by the President on Friday … There is no greater unifier in this country than sports, and unfortunately, nothing more divisive than politics.”
Now it is Sunday once again and the anthem protests are still in strong form. They have shown no signs of stopping as of yet, and in fact, they seem to be getting even worse. That is what we are dealing with as a nation right now.
Entire Saints sideline kneeling as a team… for the cointoss. Not the anthem. pic.twitter.com/gVYYjjhvYg

The New Orleans Saints have decided to kneel during the coin toss of all things. As long as they can kneel, they are happy. That is ridiculous. Just stop at this point. There will never be a good time to complete this kind of protest. Instead of protesting, go out and help people on your own.
President Trump has made it clear that these kinds of protests cannot continue. Hopefully he stands by his words and puts an end to it once and for all.
As the NFL is loosing credibility, the situation is transforming and at this point it resembles somewhat of a bad joke. With the protests loosing the focus of their agenda, we can only hope that the end of this charades is near.
