EPIC: NFL Players Come Up with Unique Way to Shame Nat’l Anthem Sitters by Wearing Special Cleats on 9/11

New York Giants players and staff showed up San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick by making it a point to pay tribute to the National Anthem during a preseason game in August.

The Seattle Seahawks on the other hand, plan to sit out the anthem on Sunday, Sept. 11.

There are sure to be other players around the league who will follow in Kaepernick’s footsteps, as well.

Now, time for the good news.

Two members of the Giants, wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz, will honor the 2,997 lives that perished 15 years ago with special cleats on the field.

From Daily Caller:

New York Giants wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz will both wear some amazing cleats honoring those lost during 9/11.

Cruz’s cleats feature the FDNY and Beckham’s feature American Eagles and images of the collapsed towers.

Remember back in 2001 when NFL players ran onto the field proudly waving Old Glory after the Twin Towers went down?

My, how times have changed since a certain person became president.

Pretty cool to see Beckham and Cruz pay tribute, and they probably won’t be the only ones.

15 years ago tomorrow.
