“I am putting together a professional and highly-experienced team which will take time to do properly,” Melania Trump said in a statement.
“I am excited to be organizing and bringing together such a dynamic and forward thinking group of individuals who will work together to make our country better for everyone,” she added.
“I look forward to the opportunity to serve as the first lady’s chief of staff,” Reynolds said in a White House statement.
“The first lady is thoughtfully selecting her team, establishing the Office of the First Lady and supporting her husband President Trump,” she said.
Reynolds said that among her first moves will be to reopen the White House Visitors Office to provide tours.
After President Donald Trump was elected in November, the Trumps announced that Melania Trump would remain in New York City until the spring so that the couple’s son, Barron, 10, could complete his current year in school.
Since that time, there have been flurries of speculation that she was planning to remain in New York City beyond that time. Further speculation took place earlier this week.
Those rumors were dispelled once and for all on Wednesday by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a senior adviser to the first lady.
“Mrs. Trump will be moving to D.C. and settling in to the White House at the end of the school year, splitting her time between New York and DC in the meantime,” she said.
“Mrs. Trump is honored to serve this country and is taking the role and responsibilities of first lady very seriously. It has only been a short time since the inauguration and the first lady is going to go about her role in a pragmatic and thoughtful way that is unique and authentic to her,” Wolkoff added.
Melania joined her husband in Washington for his inaugural weekend, but remained in New York City last weekend. This weekend, she is reportedly joining him at their Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
It will be a real pleasure to see that beautiful lady next to our President. The White House will also have it’s first son after Kennedy. This is the time for writing history. May God bless the Trump family. We will make America great again!
