Rock star Kid Rock is known for pushing against societal norms and living life exactly how he pleases. So it should come as no surprise that among liberal Hollywood, he is unapologetic about his Republican views.
Interviews demonstrate that Kid Rock is proud of the wealth he worked hard to earn. They also show that he is not afraid to make up his mind about social issues. He is a proponent of traditional marriage, for instance, but claims he has no problem with the homosexual lifestyle.
“I am definitely a Republican on fiscal issues and the military, but I lean to the middle on social issues,” he told The Guardian. “I am no fan of abortion, but it’s not up to a man to tell a woman what to do. As an ordained minister, I don’t look forward to marrying gay people, but I’m not opposed to it.”
Kid Rock also refuses to hide the fact that he is a self-made man.
“I’m not just wealthy—I’m loaded,” he commented. “I can say that because I’m not embarrassed—I’ve made a f***-ton of money, but I’ve never made a dishonest dollar. I try to do right by the people around me.”
The rock star has also admitted that he is not a fan of Barack Obama, claiming that he has let the country down.
“I didn’t vote for him,” Kid Rock explained. “I didn’t agree with his policies, but there was an exciting sense of change in the air. That promise hasn’t been fulfilled—the country is more divided than ever.”
What do you think of Kid Rock’s interview? Do you support him for speaking his mind?
