At long last, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump on Friday did the previously unthinkable and slammed first lady Michelle Obama, whom he in the past has refrained from criticizing.
Trump went after both her and her husband for wasting their time and resources campaigning for Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton.
“We have a bunch of babies running our country,” he said at a rally in Fletcher, North Carolina, as reported byNewsmax. “They are losers and they are babies, period.”
“Why is Obama campaigning?” he then asked. “He ought to be out working. All he wants to do is campaign — and his wife, all she wants to do is campaign.”
Trump then upped his attack by going after the first lady for having previously excoriated Clinton during the 2007 Democrat primaries.
“If you can’t run your own house, you certainly can’t run the White House,” Michelle Obama said at the time, leading many to believe she was referring to Clinton’s inability to keep a lid on her husband’s notorious indiscretions.
“I see how much (Barack Obama’s) wife likes Hillary,” Trump said at the rally. “But wasn’t she the one who originally started the statement, ‘If you can’t take care of your home or White House or the country?’”
You can see his comments for yourself here.
Yes, she was, yet this “vicious” statement, as the GOP described it, was being ignored by the liberal media — though if Trump were to say something similar, his statement would undoubtedly be used by liberal hacks to prove his alleged sexism.
Granted, there are so many more negatives concerning the first lady that the billionaire candidate could highlight, including her abysmal taste in role models, her habit of wasting money on frivolous purchases and, of course, her choice in men.
Kudos to Trump for getting the ball rolling. Michelle Obama has evaded criticism for far too long, and it is time for her to get a taste of her own medicine.
