The people know what is good and in the case of rockstar Kid Rock, they know what is great. The rock legend set off a political firestorm after throwing his Twitter followers a little hint about a potential Senate run in Michigan. And now, just a couple of days later, it was revealed that Kid Rock is leading his challenger, Dem Debbie Stabenow in a new poll, 30% to 26%.

Several days later, Rock went on to Twitter to confirm the rumors to his followers, and laid out his political believes in a short statement:

“I believe if you work your butt off and pay taxes, you should be able to easily understand and navigate the laws, tax codes, health care and anything else the government puts in place that affects us all.”

The poll which was conducted from July 14-28 takes in count the votes from 668 Michigan residents, and it shows that Kid Rock has the skyrocketing support of 30% of the voters, with Debbie Stanebow following behind with 26%, and 44% of the voters choosing the option to not answer publicly. All in all, Rock’s chances are high as he is most likely to go against lesser-known Republican nominees, and taking in consideration the fact that he is well-known and liked hometown darling in Michigan, doing a lot of work throughout the state, his seat is without a doubt waiting for him.
