President Trump met with GOP leaders to talk about his legislative priorities on Tuesday afternoon at the White Hose. While they discussed many issues, President Donald Trump made a pitch to Republican leaders to reveal his brand new plan for the border wall, as a way to help pay for the large structure.
As we all know, building a border wall between Mexico and the United States in order to prevent illegally entering the states by Mexican immigrants, was one of the biggest campaign promise for Trump.
Now Trump is asking Congress to front the money for the barrier he said Mexico would eventually bear the brunt of. The construction cost is approximately $1.6 billion.
The President said he’s envisioning a 40-50 foot wall along the southern border that could be covered with electricity-generating solar panels similar to the ones that a company bidding for the project offered as a part of the design.
The companies that are selected to build prototypes of the wall are soon to be announced.
The company that submitted this plan for the Wall is Gleason Partners LLC. Their manager came with a great idea for the wall, and explained: “I like the wall to be able to pay for itself,” said managing partner Thomas Gleason.
The President brought up the idea for the wall during a Tuesday gathering of GOP leaders from the House and Senate that took place in the White House.
What do you think about this? Do you like this idea for the wall to pay for itself?
