WHOA – Mike Pence Will Use This Specific Bible Verse When He Takes Oath – HERE’S WHAT IT MEANS

The Vice President elect Mike Pence has very astonishing surprise on Friday,as for his swearing in ceremony he will give his oath not from just any bible, but from the one that was used by the 40th president of America, our beloved Ronald Reagan. Not only that he will read from this remarkable bible, but he will read a specific verse intended for the future of American people.

II Chronicles 7:14 reads, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

This is the same scripture on which Reagan placed his hand while he was taking his oath of office.

Obtaining the Reagan family Bible was no easy task, even for the vice-president elect.

The Bible has been continually under security and is currently being housed at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in California.

It will be delivered by Andrew Littlefair, a former Reagan aide and current member of the board of trustees for the Reagan Foundation and Institute, where it will be kept in a secure location prior to the vice-president elect’s swearing in.

Pence explained his choice of Bible, saying, “President Ronald Reagan placed his faith in a loving God and the goodness of our country. He set out to change a nation and in doing so, he changed the world. In the march of history, Ronald Reagan’s time in office was limited, but his legacy inspired a generation and will continue beyond.”

“It will be humbling to enter office with President Donald Trump, standing next to my family, with my wife Karen holding the same Bible used by President Reagan when he took office,” he added.

There have been some questions as to the actual inference of this particular verse.

Dr. Russell Moore, leader of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission calls the idea that the phrase “my people” pertains to a nation of people, “theological liberalism.”

He went on to say that the phrase was specifically for the nation of Israel as a reminder of God’s everlasting covenant with them.

Moore added, “We too often see America as somehow more ‘real’ than the kingdom, and our country as more important than the church. But II Chronicles 7:14 itself starts with the question of identity: ‘If my people … called by my name …’ This, or any other country, is not called by the name of God. The kingdom of God, on the other hand, is.”
