Once again the leftists in the media have shown their true colors. They hate speech that differs than theirs and they absolutely cannot stand support for organizations or policies that are different.
The latest buzz surrounds the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and one of their opinion columnists, Stacy Washington. Washington was one of the only conservative voices at the Post-Dispatch, and the editor clearly wasn’t happy about that.
What happened? After Washington responded in a column to outrageous comments made against gun owners and the NRA, she was suspended. From Fox News:
The newspaper on Friday suspended Stacy Washington after a column entitled “Guns and the Media” disputed an anti-NRA article that argued since more Americans die from guns than from ISIS, the Second Amendment advocacy group is the greater danger.
From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:
Stacy Washington’s column will no longer appear in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Her active promotional activities and professional association with the National Rifle Association represented an unacceptable conflict of interest in her most recent column, which resulted in our suspension of her work. Ms. Washington chose to terminate her contract. Columnists are expected to fully disclose conflicts of interest when writing about topics where such a conflict might arise. We apply this standard regardless of the lobbying or advocacy group being written about in a column.
Social Media. Washington took to social media to air her disgust, and her supporters responded:

@ZebedeeOf Well, I terminated the contract with the Post Dispatch. And I'm still doing well. But thanks!

Why this matters? This matters because it shows the disturbing bias of the “news” media. Washington’s column was an opinion column. Clearly they didn’t like her opinion when it came to the 2nd Amendment. The column in question was destroying the lies of a gun-control addict by pointing out the truth.
That was obviously too much to handle for the leftists who run the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Imagine how many letters to the editor aren’t published every year because the editor doesn’t like a differing ideology? Imagine how many columnists are forced to suppress their ideas or opinions because they differ from the lefts?
Now think about this in the grand scheme of a news organization. If they are suppressing the speech of an opinion columnist, imagine what they are suppressing in actual news reporting.
